SettingPvPBalancedVisual Quality
Display modeExclusive fullscreen avoids the extra input latency and frame-pacing overhead of windowed modes; none of the sourced guides benchmark display mode directly for Minecraft.FullscreenBorderless fullscreenBorderless fullscreen
Ambient occlusionSmooth Lighting, Minecraft's ambient-occlusion analogue, being off is the number one cited FPS win in the Java performance guides.OffOnOn
Anti-aliasing qualityThe Bedrock guide's own mid-range preset only runs 1x MSAA, and the Java-focused guides skip AA entirely since it gives no PvP visibility benefit on Minecraft's blocky art style; Low keeps the GPU cost minimal.LowMediumHigh
Resolution scaleThe Bedrock benchmark guide's mid-range preset drops Upscale Render Resolution to 70-75%, calling out a 25-30% FPS recovery with no perceptible visual loss, a good trade in fast PvP.7585100
Texture qualityNo guide flags texture resolution as a PvP FPS lever since Minecraft's native block textures are already lightweight; Medium is a safe default rather than a benchmarked call.MediumHighEpic
Effects qualityGuides consistently set Particles to Minimal and disable clouds to cut clutter and GPU load during fights.LowMediumEpic
Frame rate limitAll three sources converge on an unlimited/uncapped frame rate paired with VSync off as the top FPS-focused configuration.UncappedUncapped144 FPS
Shadow qualityTurning Smooth Lighting off is one of the highest-impact FPS recommendations in both Java guides, and vanilla Minecraft has no separate dynamic-shadow system to lose.LowMediumHigh
Simulation distanceThe Java performance guides put simulation distance at 5-8 chunks for max FPS, since it is a pure CPU tick cost independent of visuals.6810
VSyncEvery guide explicitly disables VSync, citing the input-delay cost of syncing to the monitor's refresh rate.OffOffOff
Motion blurVanilla Minecraft has no native motion blur setting; keeping any equivalent post-effect off matches every guide's clarity-first stance for fast combat.OffOffOff
Post-process qualityGraphics Mode 'Fast' (which disables transparent leaves and weather rendering) is the top performance recommendation across both Java guides.LowMediumEpic
View distance qualityGuides recommend a 6-10 chunk render distance for PvP/max-FPS play since visible chunk count scales quadratically with distance.LowMediumEpic

Frequently asked questions

What are the best graphics settings for competitive FPS games?

Most competitive players lower shadow quality, effects, and post-processing to maximize frame rate and reduce visual noise, while keeping texture and anti-aliasing settings high enough to spot enemies clearly. The exact values differ per game and per PC - that's why our configs come from real players and show every individual setting, so you can copy a proven setup that matches your hardware.

Is Settings For Games free?

Yes. Browsing, copying, and publishing configs is completely free, and so is the Windows app. No signup is needed to copy settings. If the project helps you, there's an optional donation link.

Will copying a config overwrite my keybinds or sensitivity?

No. The copy & merge dialog keeps your personal settings - keybinds, mouse sensitivity, audio levels, crosshair colors - and only takes the graphics and performance values from the community config. You can also copy the raw config if you want everything.

Is the Windows app safe to use?

The app is a portable EXE that never modifies game files beyond the official settings/config files each game already exposes. It previews every change before writing and creates an automatic backup, so you can restore your previous settings at any time. Unsigned builds can show a Windows SmartScreen prompt until the file builds reputation.

Which games are supported?

The app can automatically apply settings for Rust, ARC Raiders, Valorant, and League of Legends, and can read Counter-Strike 2 settings. On the website you can browse and copy configs for 70+ cataloged games, including Escape from Tarkov, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Warzone, PUBG, Overwatch 2, and Marvel Rivals - and you can suggest any game we're missing.

How do I share my own config?

Either upload your config file on the website (sign in, then "Publish a config"), or use the desktop app: it detects your installed games, reads your current settings, and publishes them to your profile in a couple of clicks. Configs can be public, unlisted, or private.
