Recommended Helldivers 2 settings
Researched August 2026. Copy any config below to grab these values.| Setting | PvP | Balanced | Visual Quality |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display modeExclusive fullscreen is the standard recommendation for lowest input latency; none of the Helldivers 2 guides checked address display mode directly, so this follows general PC performance-profile convention. | Fullscreen | Fullscreen | Fullscreen |
| Ambient occlusionThe Steam optimization guide's extreme-performance preset disables Ambient Occlusion alongside shadows and particles to recover the most FPS. | Off | On | On |
| Anti-aliasing qualityThe Steam Community optimization guide's extreme-performance preset turns Anti-Aliasing off entirely, so Low is the closest schema value for a max-FPS build. | Low | High | Epic |
| Resolution scaleGuides flag the in-game render-scale option as a real FPS lever, but none state an exact percentage below native, so scale is kept at 100 rather than inventing a number. | 100 | 100 | 100 |
| Texture qualityTexture quality is described as mostly VRAM-bound rather than a major FPS cost, so Medium is kept as a VRAM-safe baseline rather than pushed all the way down for a performance profile. | Medium | High | High |
| Effects qualityGuides repeatedly identify the particle/effects system (explosions, impacts) as Helldivers 2's single biggest FPS cost, and the Steam optimization guide's extreme-performance preset sets Particle Quality to its lowest tier. | Low | Medium | High |
| Frame rate limitNo guide argues for a specific hard cap for a max-FPS build; leaving it uncapped lets the FPS gains from the other tuned-down settings translate directly into frames. | Uncapped | Uncapped | Uncapped |
| Shadow qualityThe Steam optimization guide's extreme-performance preset sets Shadow Quality to its lowest tier; the visual difference between High and Low shadows in a chaotic firefight is minor compared to the FPS it costs. | Low | Medium | High |
| VSyncNone of the checked guides address V-Sync directly for a performance build; it is disabled here to avoid the added input latency V-Sync introduces, standard practice when frame rate is left uncapped. | Off | Off | On |
| Foliage qualityLower foliage density both reduces rendering cost and removes vegetation that can visually obscure enemies, matching the Steam optimization guide's extreme-performance preset and serving this profile's visibility goal. | Low | Medium | High |
| Motion blurThe games-journalism guide explicitly sets Motion Blur off and the Steam optimization guide's performance preset does the same, matching the near-universal advice to disable it in fast-paced firefights. | Off | Off | Off |
| Post-process qualityBoth the games-journalism guide (Depth of Field and Bloom off) and the Steam optimization guide (Screen-Space Global Illumination off even at higher tiers) agree the heavy post-process effects should be disabled, supporting a Low tier for a performance build. | Low | Medium | High |
| View distance qualityRender/view distance is called out as a real CPU cost alongside particles, and the Steam optimization guide's extreme-performance preset sets it to Low. | Low | High | Epic |

What are the best graphics settings for competitive FPS games?
Most competitive players lower shadow quality, effects, and post-processing to maximize frame rate and reduce visual noise, while keeping texture and anti-aliasing settings high enough to spot enemies clearly. The exact values differ per game and per PC - that's why our configs come from real players and show every individual setting, so you can copy a proven setup that matches your hardware.
Is Settings For Games free?
Yes. Browsing, copying, and publishing configs is completely free, and so is the Windows app. No signup is needed to copy settings. If the project helps you, there's an optional donation link.
Will copying a config overwrite my keybinds or sensitivity?
No. The copy & merge dialog keeps your personal settings - keybinds, mouse sensitivity, audio levels, crosshair colors - and only takes the graphics and performance values from the community config. You can also copy the raw config if you want everything.
Is the Windows app safe to use?
The app is a portable EXE that never modifies game files beyond the official settings/config files each game already exposes. It previews every change before writing and creates an automatic backup, so you can restore your previous settings at any time. Unsigned builds can show a Windows SmartScreen prompt until the file builds reputation.
Which games are supported?
The app can automatically apply settings for Rust, ARC Raiders, Valorant, and League of Legends, and can read Counter-Strike 2 settings. On the website you can browse and copy configs for 70+ cataloged games, including Escape from Tarkov, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Warzone, PUBG, Overwatch 2, and Marvel Rivals - and you can suggest any game we're missing.
How do I share my own config?
Either upload your config file on the website (sign in, then "Publish a config"), or use the desktop app: it detects your installed games, reads your current settings, and publishes them to your profile in a couple of clicks. Configs can be public, unlisted, or private.
