Recommended Elden Ring settings

Researched August 2026. Copy any config below to grab these values.
SettingPerformanceBalancedVisual Quality
Display modeDexerto's performance/stability guide runs Fullscreen and no other guide recommends borderless or windowed mode for Elden Ring.FullscreenFullscreenFullscreen
Ambient occlusionSSAO only costs 1-2 FPS per these guides and none of them recommend disabling it outright, so it stays on even in the performance profile.OnOnOn
Anti-aliasing qualityBoth Dexerto's performance/stability preset and SmoothFPS's budget tier set anti-aliasing to Low/FXAA when frame rate is the priority.LowMediumHigh
Resolution scaleNo guide recommends rendering below native resolution; Dexerto explicitly sets resolution to match the monitor rather than using an internal scale.100100100
Texture qualityDigital Trends' benchmarked performance configuration used Medium textures on VRAM-limited hardware, which is the safer default for a broad performance baseline.MediumHighHigh
Effects qualityDexerto and Digital Trends both set Effects Quality to Medium in their optimized configurations to reduce spell/particle load without a flat visual downgrade.MediumMediumHigh
Frame rate limitElden Ring's engine is natively hard-capped at 60 FPS per three independent guides, and going higher requires third-party memory-patching tools that risk an Easy Anti-Cheat ban, which is unsafe to recommend as a PvP baseline.60 FPS60 FPS60 FPS
Shadow qualityThree guides independently warn that dropping Shadow Quality below High causes distracting shadow flicker while only saving 1-2 FPS, so it stays High even in the performance profile, which also helps spot invaders in shaded areas.HighHighHigh
VSyncSmoothFPS recommends V-Sync Off across every hardware tier to cut input lag, with no source recommending it on.OffOffOff
Foliage qualityDexerto's performance configuration sets Grass Quality to Medium, matching the profile's overall Medium-effects tier.MediumMediumHigh
Motion blurDigital Trends calls turning off motion blur one of the 'two biggest wins' for clarity in Elden Ring, and Dexerto's performance config agrees.OffOffOff
Post-process qualityElden Ring has no setting literally called 'post-process quality'; mapped to the closest analogous option (Shader Quality), which Dexerto's performance guide sets to Low.LowMediumHigh
View distance qualityNone of the guides reviewed expose a dedicated view-distance slider for Elden Ring, so this is a moderate editorial default pending game-specific research.MediumMediumHigh

Frequently asked questions

What are the best graphics settings for competitive FPS games?

Most competitive players lower shadow quality, effects, and post-processing to maximize frame rate and reduce visual noise, while keeping texture and anti-aliasing settings high enough to spot enemies clearly. The exact values differ per game and per PC - that's why our configs come from real players and show every individual setting, so you can copy a proven setup that matches your hardware.

Is Settings For Games free?

Yes. Browsing, copying, and publishing configs is completely free, and so is the Windows app. No signup is needed to copy settings. If the project helps you, there's an optional donation link.

Will copying a config overwrite my keybinds or sensitivity?

No. The copy & merge dialog keeps your personal settings - keybinds, mouse sensitivity, audio levels, crosshair colors - and only takes the graphics and performance values from the community config. You can also copy the raw config if you want everything.

Is the Windows app safe to use?

The app is a portable EXE that never modifies game files beyond the official settings/config files each game already exposes. It previews every change before writing and creates an automatic backup, so you can restore your previous settings at any time. Unsigned builds can show a Windows SmartScreen prompt until the file builds reputation.

Which games are supported?

The app can automatically apply settings for Rust, ARC Raiders, Valorant, and League of Legends, and can read Counter-Strike 2 settings. On the website you can browse and copy configs for 70+ cataloged games, including Escape from Tarkov, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Warzone, PUBG, Overwatch 2, and Marvel Rivals - and you can suggest any game we're missing.

How do I share my own config?

Either upload your config file on the website (sign in, then "Publish a config"), or use the desktop app: it detects your installed games, reads your current settings, and publishes them to your profile in a couple of clicks. Configs can be public, unlisted, or private.
